Setting up your email program to work with Google Apps/Gmail

  1. Log into your new Google Apps Mail account (default address is http://www.google.com/a/{yourdomainname.com}
  2. Click on Settings
  3. Click on "Forwarding and POP/IMAP"
  4. Check the "Enable IMAP" box (you can disable POP if you would like, but it will not hurt anything being on)
  5. Click Save Changes

Once you have IMAP on you can look at the "Configuration Instructions" link on that same page for detail on how to setup your mail clients (eg Blackberry, Apple Mail, Outlook, etc).
